The first use of the English word “history” wasn’t until 1482. And “historian” not until about half a century on from that. In many ways, the concept of “history” is relatively new.

“History” has spent most of its life closely intertwined with stories, myths, legends and religious stories (via “Making History” by Richard Cohen).

Between 1567 and 1643 around 1% of Londoner’s went to the theatre every single day.

A warm, crisp McChicken sandwich sometimes just hits the spot like nothing else. And when the maker has put in the right amount of mayo and lettuce it is wonderfully delightful!

I'm using Eleventy as the static site generator for this blog. And I have to say I'm not fully sold on it. It seems fairly simple, which is what I want. And customising it hasn't been too tricky.

However the tool for showing the website locally before then building it is pretty rough. Buggy and slow and just behaves oddly.

Site is starting to come along. Simple. But at least it looks a bit 'Twitter-y', which is what I'm going for.

This is the first post. I am testing images. I have created a iOS shortcut which resizes the image and sends it to Dropbox.
